Irregular openings with deviations up to 15 mm: each window was custom manufactured with millimetre-precise laser level surveying. Terrace with 20 mm level difference: special lower guide with integrated drainage. Loft roof: rafter reinforcement with load-bearing frame for the FAKRO window.
Granada belongs to climate zone C3, characterised by cold winters with frequent frost and very hot summers. This dual extreme makes PVC the ideal choice for standard windows, as it offers the lowest Uw values per euro invested. For the terrace enclosure, aluminium was necessary due to the large leaf dimensions required. In 1980s homes, original sub-frames are usually oxidised and deformed. At Tecnisun we always remove the old sub-frame and install a new aluminium one with thermal break. This adds €50-80 per window but guarantees perfect levelling, thermal bridge elimination, and optimal sealing.
We use a triple-barrier sealing system: interior vapour barrier (expanding tape or membrane) to prevent condensation, low-expansion polyurethane foam for insulation, and exterior neutral silicone with reinforcing mesh for weather protection.
